  • Statement of Advice (or Financial Blue Print)
    • Or SOA, is a compliance document legally required for each client and advice piece. Importantly it outlines our advice to you, what we have based that advice on including your current arrangements, your goals and objectives, and how this advice will help you reach those objectives.
  • Fact Find
    • This is a document that collects relevant information about you and your circumstances. It will help us to understand your personal circumstances, prompt us to ask questions about your needs and design a strategy that will meet your goals. The fact find is a critical research document.
  • Third-Party Authority
    • A signed document, allowing us authority to access your personal accounts and discover specific details about the financial instruments you hold. With these details, we can then get a clear picture on how we can improve your current position.
    • It does not allow us the ability to alter any current position.
  • Medical Pre-Assessment
    • This is a preliminary document that is forwarded to insurance companies on your behalf. This will give us an idea of the terms that could be offered from each insurer based on your current occupation, state of health age, pastimes etc. Each insurance company has differing assessment criteria and this document gives us an indication where your best terms may be offered.
  • Risk Profile Questionnaire
    • The questionnaire is used as a starting point to engage you in conversation about how to construct your portfolio of investments.
    • It will help us identify a level of risk you are comfortable taking while targeting your preferred rate of return from an asset.
    • Generally, this will fall somewhere within the range from Defensive to Growth. It is more than likely you will prefer a mixture of both depending on your investment time horizon.
  • Investment Assets
    • Defensive Assets are assets where there is limited risk to the underlying asset value. These assets derive value through periodic interest or coupon payments. These are generally;
      • Cash (Term or Bank Deposits),
      • Government Bonds
      • Corporate Bonds
    • Growth Assets are assets where there may be fluctuations in the underlying asset value as well as an expected income paid. This income may be derived through distributions, rents or dividends. These are;
      • Property and infrastructure
      • Domestic Shares (2% of the global market)
      • International Shares
  • Fixed Term Service Agreement
    • Enables us to provide continued support for the goals that we have provided advice on. These services can include but are not limited to:
      • Portfolio review service,
      • Portfolio rebalancing,
      • Direct access to your financial planner,
      • Market updates and information,
      • Access to the administration team,
      • Keeping abreast of regulatory change and notification of opportunities
      • most importantly, fine-tuning your strategy so that it remains applicable given the constant legal and economic change.
  • Commission
    • Payments made by product providers to your financial representatives for recommending and purchasing products on their clients behalf. This can add up to 50% to the cost of products recommended to clients in perpetuity. Surf Coast Wealth Management, does not take commissions on any recommended product.
    • If you would prefer to lower your initial advice fee by allowing your adviser to receive commissions, then we are not the advice firm for you.
  • Non-Disclosure
    • When you have chosen not to provide information that could be relevant to the basis of advice that has been relied upon.
